You may also visit he Achilleion Palace, a Neo-Classical palace built for the Empress of Austria, Sisi, which was later purchased by German Kaiser Wilhelm II in 1907 and used as his summer retreat. The palace, a popular tourist attraction in Corfu, features gardens and statues dedicated to the Greek hero Achilles and is located in the village of Gastouri, overlooking the sea.
